Yohouse: A Multifunctional House Designed by Massive Dynamic Interior Design Ltd

Creating Freshness through Color Separation and Interval Design

The happy atmosphere of the gray and blue designer starts from the two major directions. First, after discussing with the head of the household, the main tone is set to gray-blue. Originally, the gray-blue color is easy to control and match, but it must be equipped with a certain Feng Shui element. Pink long bright lamps. In this way, the question is coming. How do you inject a feminine pink light into a room of gray-blue tones? Under the circumstance of the designer, I still haven't searched

Located in Yuen Long, GRAND YOHO, Yohouse is a multifunctional house designed by Massive Dynamic Interior Design Ltd. With a usable area of 799 square feet, this project showcases the creativity and expertise of the chief designer, JanHam. The design incorporates the needs and favorite elements of a young couple, playing with color separation and interval design to create a feeling of freshness.

The design of Yohouse stands out due to its unique properties. The smallpox, floor/brick, and wall are made of different materials and colors, resulting in a visually appealing and dynamic space. This approach breaks away from traditional design norms and adds a touch of excitement to the house.

The realization of Yohouse involved the use of various materials such as iron, mud brick, wood, formica, and vinyl tile. The furniture was provided by Massive Dynamic Interior Design Ltd, while the wallpaper was sourced from Tat Ming Wallpaper. Nippon Paint was used for the walls, and the floor materials were supplied by R&B. The AV equipment used in the house includes brands like Bose and Sony.

With a useful area of 798 square feet, Yohouse features a spatial pattern of 2 halls and 2 rooms. The design team, consisting of Chief Designer Ham, Kwok Fung, Designer Suen, On Tin, and Designer Li, Hoi Chun, worked together to bring this project to life.

Yohouse offers a seamless interaction between different spaces. The kitchen has been transformed into a semi-open style, separated by a glass door, allowing extra daylight to enter the room. This integration of the kitchen space into the living room provides visitors with a sense of openness and enhances the overall flow of the house. Additionally, the kitchen offers a view into the study room in the bedroom area, improving the visual space and creating a more connected atmosphere.

The corridor in Yohouse has been strategically moved near the window sill, dividing the space into a porch and a bedroom. The porch, separated by a glass door, adds flexibility to the space. When the glass door is opened, the porch can be extended into the corridor, providing a versatile area for relaxation or conversation in the sun.

The Yohouse project started in May 2018 and was completed in September 2018. Throughout the design process, the team conducted extensive research, optimizing aspects of the project using Environmental Design Studies (EDS). Cross ventilation was incorporated into the common and private areas by capitalizing on the corridors.

One of the creative challenges faced during the design process was integrating the corridors near the window. This required careful planning and execution to ensure a seamless transition and maximize the use of natural light.

In response to the request of the female head of the household, the designer transformed the kitchen behind the sofa into a semi-open style, introducing more sunlight into the hall. The glass kitchen provides a visually unobstructed view, and the two entrances offer an extra route to the bedroom area, allowing the family to watch TV without obstruction. When the glass door is closed, the kitchen becomes an independent space. The design also transformed the original three-bedroom layout into a porch and a master suite with a study and cloakroom.
